Yoga camp day 14 ... Go with the flow

Affirmation:
"Go with the flow"
I will go with the flow, or I choose to go with the flow... Whatever speaks to you.

Intro:
Hey guys. Today's post is going to be a little short. I am super tired after the yoga session I just did. I am finding it harder and harder to get to my yoga. Not because I don't have enough time in the day, but because I am lacking the motivation. I just need to get up in the morning and do it... I plan on getting up at 6:30 to do it tomorrow morning, before I start the day. I hope I can get it done.

Yoga:
Today's yoga was both relaxing and included a bit of exercising. Here is the video if you are doing it with me. This one got my heart rate up a bit. She really emphasizes moving with your breath, hence the "go with the flow" affirmation.

Daily Activities:
This morning I probably should have been a bit more productive, but it was a relaxing morning. Around 1:40pm I made my way to the Crosswalk Cafe down town, and met with the marketing director for Trinity title. She gave me some information on how to create my own marketing material for prospecting.

After my meeting, I went to the office to sign up for phone duty. I was able to get 8 am - 11 am, Tue - Fri of this week. Hopefully I will get some leads from this. I told my broker, that since I am scheduled for this time, I would have to skip the training in the mornings. Apparently they will just forward the phone to my cell phone and I can get two birds with one stone! Pretty awesome I think!

Then I came back home, and made dinner for my hubby. BLTs and salad. Not too bad for a dinner I think.

Conclusion:
I hope y'all have a great day. Stay motivated!

Yoga Camp Day13 ... I deserve!

Affirmation:
I deserve...!
I deserve to be happy with where I'm at in my life!

Intro:
Hey y'all! I am back from my little hiatus. Sorry about that. I have been going through a bit of a transition, and needed a bit of a break to complete it. I know that doesn't make much sense, but there has been a lot going on, and I didn't feel I had enough time to do it all.

So as you may remember, I had started working at the Gritmill. Well I'm not working there any more. They wanted me to host for longer than I wanted, and the sweatshirt that I had to buy, if I wanted to wear one when it was cold, was taken. Those things were $30 with the employee discount. I was not too happy about that. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my purse in the car, or in the area where all the servers leave their stuff, so I quit.

I am now working at a restaurant call the River Hofbrau with Russell. I had 4 days of training, and I am now a server. I think I will do well there. The servers say that they can make $100 or more on a Saturday night! That's what Russ and I need.

The affirmation today is great! " I deserve to be happy with where I'm at in my life." This is perfect for me, because I am struggling a bit with my career, and the changes I have had to make. I am obviously having to work at a restaurant to make money right now, until I can bring in money through Real Estate. I have changed brokers, so hopefully my new broker will be able to give me motivation to get out there and pound the pavement. I think all I really need is to get that one lead on my own, and have them close. That will give me the motivation I need to continue on. I am just getting a little discouraged with it right now.

I am trying to do some advertising, but we don't have the money to buy advertising right now. I am having to do free marketing, so hopefully it will bring some people in so that I can pay for marketing.

Yoga:
Today's yoga was very relaxing. We did 1 downward dog, and most of the video you are lying on your back. Usually when I do a lot of laying down on the floor, my back hurts a lot. This time, my back doesn't hurt at all! It is really refreshing. Here is the video if you are still doing the yoga camp with me.

I know I have been absent for a while, and I apologize for that. I hope y'all continued doing it even when I wasn't. I have just been battling my inner voice for the past couple of weeks. I keep telling myself, " I need to do my yoga", but then the day goes by so fast and its already 8 or 9 pm. Then I'm too tired to do anything. Hopefully I am back for good, and stay motivated by trying to keep y'all motivated.

Daily Activities:
Today I woke up pretty refreshed. I think I slept pretty well, so that always helps my days go better. I did a little computer work, and switched over my database from the KW website, to my new one with eProperty Realty, and got all of my emails set up.

I am going to be door knocking today around 4:00 pm. I was told that it's best to door knock between 4pm and  7pm on weekdays. I'm sorry for all of you that don't like people knocking on your door, that you don't know, but I have to find clients one way or another, and this is the only way I know how so far.

To be completely honest, I am the same way when it comes to people knocking on my door that I don't know. However, it may not be because of the same reasons you don't like it. I don't open the door for strangers if I'm home alone. I have heard too many horror stories of women who open the door, and they get hurt. I will only open the door if Russell is home. I know he will protect me.

I just get a little nervous when I try to talk to strangers. My thing is, I am great face to face, when they know I am going to be talking to them about Real Estate. It's the fact that when I door knock, they are not expecting it, and I feel less confident. I guess as Russell would say, "Put your big girl panties on and get over it". Hahaha he's so funny.

Motivation:

Conclusion:
The most important thing that I need to learn, is never give up on yourself. When you fall of the horse, jump right back on and hold on tight. If you fall again, keep on getting back up.

I hope today has brought y'all motivation back, if you lost it while I was "gone". I hope to keep it going again, and be as present as I was before.

Have a great day everyone!

Yoga camp day 12 ... I trust...!

Affirmation:
I trust ___!
I trust the path I'm walking down.

Intro:
Hey guys! Sorry, I have been a little MIA for the past few days. I have been so busy with he new job, birthday party, and a super bowl party. I hope I haven't let y'all down, and made y'all lose y'alls motivation. We have to keep in mind, that if we fall, we just have to get back up and keep going. At least I didnt fall off the grid for a week or more, then I would have to start all over again.

Keeping with the theme of my blog "One day makes a difference" I won harp on the past too much, I will only focus on today. So what ever happened between the 5th and today, makes no difference. Today is all that matters.

I really like the affirmation today, "I trust". What will you trust today? Yourself? The yoga you're doing? Or maybe you have changed directions in your profession, and you will trust your decisions. The reason my affirmation is "I trust the path I'm walking down" is because, I am having difficulty with doing Real Estate on my own. I feel like I am not putting my best foot forward, and I need to go all in. I can see the frustration on Russell's face when he talks about me getting out there and talking to people. Some things just seem a little daunting, and scary. I just have to suck it up and get out there. I am going to do some volunteer work at the Humane Society here in New Braunfels, and hopefully feel more comfortable with talking to people, and improve a dogs quality of life a little.

Do you do any volunteer work in your area? If so, what do you do?

Yoga:
Today's yoga was shorter than other days. It was only 22 minutes long, rather than 30 minutes long. It wasn't too strenuous today. She gave instructions on how to do crow pose, and I attempted it again. Here is the pose if you aren't sure what crow is.

It's actually pretty difficult to do. My knees hurt the back of my arms. Not sure if I'm doing it right, but I at least try.

Daily Activities:
Today, Russell and I went to our CPA, so that she could get all our paperwork for our taxes. We are really hoping that we get some good money back. This is the first time we are using a CPA, since I have my own business. We aren't sure how to do all the deductions for all my business expenses. I feel like I am finally an adult, now that I have a CPA. Haha. One more mile stone to mark off the calendar.

I work at the Gristmill at 5:30 pm today. I have one more week of hosting before I can train as a server. Since this weekend is Valentines day weekend, it is going to be crazy busy, so they need help seating people, and I wouldn't get the training I need in order to be a successful server... I guess. I have served for so long, I feel like I will be fine. Oh well. They will do it the way they need to do it I guess.

Food:
Breakfast - Coffee
Lunch - Whataburger
Dinner - nothing yet

Exercise:

Conclusion:
Find something today to trust in. Trust your work out routine. Even though you may not be seeing results yet, stay the course and you will!

I hope y'all have a great day. I will be doing yoga everyday again. I guess I just needed a little break.
Stay happy, and motivated!

Yoga camp day 11 ... I release

Affirmation:
I release ___!
I release the negativity!

Intro:
Hey guys! It's going to be a fairly short post today. I am feeling a bit tired. TGIF! Unfortunately I don't get to indulge in this luxury. My choice I guess. I could have stuck with a desk job, and had my weekends off. Oh well, I guess I have to weigh what is more important. Weekends off, or set my own schedule. I think I'll stick with setting my own schedule for now.

Today's affirmation is I release. use this for whatever you wish to release. Stress, tension, negativity, or what Adriene said in the video, "I release that which does not serve me." That is a little bit deep for me, so I am just going to say I release the negativity.

Yoga:
Today's yoga was pretty relaxing. I feel good. Here is the video if you are doing it with me. There are a good amount of twists today, along with a lung twist. That move was pretty difficult, I have to admit. I almost fell over a couple times. Here is the move I'm talking about.

She said that a modification is to put the back knee on the ground for stability, but I wanted it to be all or nothing.

Daily Activities:
Today Russ and I cleaned the garage, and we put boards up in the attic so that we could store some Christmas stuff up there. He taught me how to use the table saw, and the nail gun! I feel handy now! Pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Then we just hung out together. A little together time is just what we needed.

At 6pm I will head into work at the Gristmill. I am actually liking it. I am excited to talk to everyone!

Food:
Breakfast - peaches and cream instant oatmeal
Lunch - Grilled chicken taco with ranch, chalula, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and spinach.
Dinner - homemade hamburgers.

Day 9 and 10 ... I am bold / I am present

Affirmation:
I am bold!
I am present

Intro:
Hey every one. I know I didn't post an entry yesterday, but I did do my yoga. I just didn't have time to post to the blog after yoga, because I waited to do it, like a procrastinator. I had to work at 5 pm yesterday. My first day at the Gristmill, and I started the video at 3:45 pm. It was a 30 minute long video, and I still had to get ready for work, and leave at 4:35 pm to get there 10 minutes early. So I will be posting yesterday's and today's in the same post.

Yesterday's affirmation was I am bold. Being bold, means to be brave, courageous, bright and strong. You don't have to be a daredevil to be bold. You can do bold things everyday. Just by telling the truth about something, which might be difficult, can be bold. Especially if it's something someone needs to hear. Being strong does not necessarily mean physical strength. Standing up for what you believe in, can be strong. If we do something bold everyday, even if it's something small, maybe that will empower us. What do you think?

Today's affirmation is I am present. What this means, is not being in autopilot. There are times during the day I find myself in autopilot, and just going through the motions. I'm not really paying attention to what I am doing. Maybe for you that is going to the refrigerator to get something to eat, even though you're not hungry. That might mean you need more water, or you're bored. I find myself doing that a lot, but with chocolate. I did it today actually. I mindlessly reached into the candy bowl, and grabbed a piece of chocolate, and ate it. I should be more present during the day. Maybe I would lose weight if I am more present in my daily activities. What do you do where you just mindlessly do something, where if you were more present, you probably wouldn't have done it?

Yoga:
Yesterday's yoga was pretty good. Here is the video if you are doing it with me. It was all about awareness of the body, and how your alignment was. Making sure you are doing the poses correctly, so that you aren't just flying through them, and getting the full benefit out of them. One of the poses was Warrior 2, and we stood there in that pose for a good minute. During that minute, we would turn our chest to the side, and raise our arms and our pelvis, then back to Warrior 2. This was killer on my arms, but it was a great couple of minutes.

Today's yoga was really good as well. Here is the video if you are doing it with me. It's like cobbler's pose, but your legs are elevated, and the crease of your elbows are in the crease of your knees. Here is the image. I had to take if from the video, because I couldn't find it on google. Not sure what it's called.

Other than assisting with your core, I am not sure what it is good for. But it was fun to do.

Daily Activities:
Yesterday I went to phone duty at 11 am and got contact information for 4 clients. Hopefully something will come of those contacts. After that, I came home, relaxed, did yoga, and then went to work at the Gristmill. I have to host for a week before I can start training to be a server. Hopefully it wont be too much longer than that.

Today, I did yoga, and that butt exercise video that I did the other day. Here is the exercise video if you want to do it with me. I have a showing at 2 today. The couple that I am showing aren't preapproved, but I am just going to show them the house, to get in the door with them. Then I will suggest they go to their bank or one of my preferred lenders before we see any other homes. They aren't at a very high price range, but that's okay. Its money if I can get them to purchase a home through me.

Food:
Yesterday
Breakfast - Banana
Lunch - Tuna sandwich
Dinner - Chicken tenders with home made honey mustard

Today
Breakfast - 1 piece of cinnamon toast
Lunch - nothing yet
Dinner - nothing yet.

Exercise:

Conclusion:
I hope y'all have found motivation in this post, and continue to find it in your daily lives.
Have a great day my friends!

Day 8 ... I choose

Affirmation:
I choose ___!
I choose to be happy!

Intro:
Hey everyone. So as mentioned yesterday, I would probably be doing yoga earlier now, since I will be working most evenings. I have orientation today at 4pm, and I'm not sure how long it is going to be, so I decided to do yoga early, just in case.

I really like today's affirmation. "I choose___". What do you choose for yourself today? Do you choose to be productive, complete a task before the deadline, make healthy choices, or do you choose to simply be happy like me?

The reason I decided my affirmation would be "I choose to be happy", is because I feel that happiness is chosen. I think if we want to be unhappy, then we will be. I think simply choosing to be happy, helps tremendously to let stress go. Maybe all you need during a stressful time, is to take a deep breath, and say, "I choose to be happy". Don't believe me? Try it once when you are stressed, and tell me how it goes. Maybe it clears your mind a little, and helps you think of a solution to your stressful situation. Maybe it helps you realize that your situation isn't as bad as you thought it was, and realizing that helps you relax. Whatever it is, I know it will help. Even if it's just to relieve you from stress for that moment.

When you decide on what you choose to do, or be, really live it for today. You could even adopt it as a morning affirmation, then find another one for the rest of the day. Whatever you decide, make it count, and make sure it makes you feel good.

Yoga:
Today's yoga was very relaxing. Not strenuous at all. There was a pillow, and a lot of laying down, and reflecting in this video. Here it is if you are doing it with me. If you don't think this is a very productive video, you would be wrong. It is always good to take time for yourself, and allow yourself to relax and meditate. Take advantage of this video, and really embrace it.

Daily Activities:
Well it's only 11:00am, so I haven't done a whole lot yet today. I obviously did my yoga, but I also did a back exercise video. Here it is if you would like to do it as well. I would recommend doing the exercise video, and then doing the yoga. That way the yoga stretches out your back after you have worked it out.

I will be going to orientation at 4:00pm. Usually orientation isn't but maybe an hour long. Not sure if they are going to want me to hang out at the host stand for a bit though. This evening I will update with what else I did for the day.

Food:
Breakfast - Scrambled eggs with spinach, and sliced tomatoes.
Lunch -
Dinner -

I am going to choose healthy food choices today.

Exercise:

Back exercise

Motivation:

Conclusion:
Well that's it for now. As I said before, I will update later this evening.

Have a good day my friend!

Day 7 ... I am capable

Affirmation:
I am capable!

Intro:
Hi guys! I hope y'all had a good Monday! If you need a little laugh, here are some jokes, brought to you by theBERRY...

Today's affirmation, "I am capable" really helped me thru the yoga today. I stayed strong, and unwavering. I'm not sure if its because of the affirmation, or if it's because I am getting better. Maybe it's a little of both. I'd like to think that I am getting better, especially since I have done yoga almost everyday for 37 days.

Just remember, if you think you can't do something, you are short changing yourself. You can do anything you put your mind to. Just look at me... I have always been one of those people that has a hard time developing a habit. Now, I do yoga every day. Partly because I have the blog to keep me motivated, and accountable.

If you stumble, that just means that you are trying really hard, and to keep trying. You will get it right one day. Maybe "someday" isn't tomorrow, or next week, but keep at it, and "someday" will be today.

Yoga:
Today's yoga was pretty good. Not too challenging, at least I didn't think it was. Maybe it because I have been doing it for a little while now. Here is the video if you are doing it with me. She started out slow, with some bending over, and rolling up. Then transitioned into warrior 2. We did tree pose. If you don't remember me talking about tree pose in a previous post, let me refresh your memory with what I said about it...

"I am not sure how I feel about tree pose. Maybe I am not doing it enough to reap the benefits of it. She says that it is supposed to be relaxing, but all I can think about is how much my heal is digging into my thigh. When I wear yoga pants, my foot slides down my leg, and when I wear shorts, my foot pulls on my skin. It's rather uncomfortable." - Day 27

I am better at it now, and I am able to actually enjoy it. I wore shorts for this video, and my foot didn't pull on my skin as much as it did before. It was actually really nice. I think the key to the pose is, when you push your foot to your thigh, push you thigh back, engage your abs, lift your chest, press your shoulders down, and focus on one spot in front of you. This helps with stability as well. I hope this helps with your tree pose if you were having the kind of issues I was having.

Daily Activities:
Today was a pretty relaxed day. Russell and I just hung out. I called and emailed some people that I had talked to in the past about buying or renting a house. Haven't gotten a response from anyone yet. I did a 5 minute video for butt and thigh exercises. Here it is if you want to try it. It really killed my legs. I am going to work out a different part of my body every day with a 5 minute work out video. I think that will help out a lot. I will also see a difference since I will be working at the Gristmill in the evening and weekends now. Hopefully I will get thinner, and my wallet will get fatter. Hahaha.

Food:
Breakfast - Banana and 1 cup of coffee
Lunch - Peanut butter and apricot preserves sandwich
Dinner - Fish and shrimp tacos with a little ranch, franks red hot, spinach, and tomatoes.

All in all, I am pretty happy with my food choices for the day!

Exercise:
Yoga camp day 7
5 minute butt and thigh exercise video

Motivation:

Conclusion:
I hope this post has motivated you to keep going, and keep pushing. Just a heads up, since I will be working in the evenings, I may be changing the time that I do my yoga. I may start doing it in the morning so that I don't push it off at night when I'm tired from serving.

Tomorrow is orientation, and it starts at 4:00pm so I may be doing my yoga early tomorrow.

Until then my friends. Stay happy, healthy and motivated!

Yoga camp day 6

Affirmation:
I feel supported!

Intro:
Hey guys. Sorry I didn't do my yoga yesterday. Russell and I got home late last night from my sisters mother in-laws birthday. So you can blame her for not doing the yoga... Hahaha, just kidding. I did a little exercise yesterday. My sister has a trampoline, and I jumped on it for a total of about an hour with my nephew who is 3 almost 4. I also drank 2 glasses of wine, so when we got home, I was exhausted and sleepy. Haha.

Today's affirmation is "I feel supported". What this means, is instead of feeling strong, you should feel supported in what you do. Whether it be exercise, or a new challenge, or in your choices. At least that is what I took from it. You can take from it what you think it means. Let me know in the comments if your take on what "I feel supported" means.

Yoga:
Today's yoga is all about the abs. It's a pretty short video today. It's all floor work; laying on your back. There are crunches, and windshield wiper legs. My abs are BURNING. This was a great video!

Daily Activities:
Today Russell and I went over to his parents house, because we needed his dad to help ups with filling out paperwork for our taxes. After working on our paperwork, we just hung out, and watched TV.

Of course, I got bored and so I found something to do. I played a little solitaire. I taught Sophi (our niece) how to play the solitaire where you put the card in a pyramid. Not sure what that card game is called. Then Sophie and I colored. It was a great bonding moment.

Food:
Breakfast - 2 grilled eggs, 2 biscuits, 2 pieces of bacon, and some hash browns.
Lunch - munching
Dinner - Pizza and wings.

Exercise:

Yoga camp day 5 ... I'm alive with _____

Affirmation:
I'm alive with _____!
I'm alive with gratitude!

Intro:
Well hello again! Glad to see that you are back again to read my blog. I hope you are enjoying it, and it isn't getting boring or repetitive. If it is, let me know. I would be happy to spice it up a bit, or make any changes you think would be good for the blog.

Today's affirmation is "I'm alive with...". I finished with gratitude. I am very grateful for everyone and everything in my life. I have a great family, wonderful husband, amazing dogs, a roof over my head, food in my stomach, and a job. I may not have much more than that, but what I do have, I am grateful for.

If you spend your life wishing for things, and not appreciating what you have, then you will never be truly happy. The reason being, if you can't appreciate what you already have, how can you expect to appreciate any more than that?

When I was younger, I'm sure my parents didn't have a whole lot of money. I mean they did okay for a family of 6, but they definitely weren't rich. If they were rich, they were rich in love. Anyway, they were grateful for what they had. I don't think I ever heard them complain about what they didn't have. Unless they complained when I was in front of the TV. You could walk past me and say hi, and I wouldn't realize you were there until my show was over. So who knows what people talked about while I watched Tiny Toons. *ZONED OUT!!*

I never heard them complain about what they didn't have, and I only heard them say thanks for the things they did have. So there wasn't any reason for me to think otherwise. Because of their gratitude toward what they possessed, I can be grateful for the things I have, and not worry about the things I don't.

I'm not a parent, but I would think that if you expose your children to that sort of negativity, they will grow up thinking they didn't have anything of value. When in actuality, they had all that they really needed to survive and thrive. As long as your children have a loving family, food to fill their bellies, a roof over their head (whether it be an apartment, your parents home, or a house) and a few toys to play with, they have everything anyone could ever need. You may not be rich with money, or luxuries, but you are rich in love. Be grateful for everything you have, even if it's not as much as the next door neighbor. If you show your children that working hard to provide for your family, even if its the bare necessities (que Baloo from The Jungle Book), then they will work hard, and do the same for their family.

This was just what popped into my head when I think of being grateful. You can't imagine what goes on in this brain of mine. You say one word, and I could go off like a firework. By the way, I LOVE fireworks! They are so bright and colorful, and the big boom they make, I can always feel it in my chest. Its awesome... There I go... Off in my own world. Okay back to the blog.

Yoga:
Today's yoga was REALLY GOOD! I really liked it. It was slow, but got my heart pumping. It really worked out my arms, and my legs. While doing the yoga in the beginning, I realized my legs don't spread as wide as they used to while I danced. You know, when you sit with your legs in a "V" shape. I used to be able to get the "V" pretty big. Not any more. I felt like I was in dance one all over again.

Then we did this thing with our arms, she called it a "flow". When you inhale, you float your arms up, and when you exhale you float your arms down. It really worked out my shoulder muscles. They actually started getting tired there for a bit. We did this in a couple different poses. I'm not really sure what it's supposed to do for you, other than work out those shoulder muscle, but it felt pretty relaxing. Here is the video if you are doing it with me.

Daily Activities:
Today I showed some more homes to my renters. I really hope that they find something soon. Otherwise, I may need to terminate our relationship. I only get about $200 if I find them a rental, and I am using a lot of gas to show them homes. I don't want to have to do that, but I might need to. I'm not going to say it's wasting my time, because I am getting some good experience for it, but I am spending more money driving around, than I will receive by getting them a house. It's just not good, financially, for me to continue showing them homes. It would just be the right thing to do, for both of us, if I backed away.

After I got back from showing, Russell and I just hung around the house and watched TV and payed Russells game. And that's pretty much all I did today.

Food:
Breakfast - Banana
Lunch - Tuna salad sandwich with tomato and spinach!!! mmmm
Dinner - Sonic ... uuuug I KNOW! It's so bad for you, but it's soooo good!!!

Exercise:
Yoga camp day 5

Motivation:

Everyone wants to look good naked!

I know I didn't. I need to start keeping track of this....

Conclusion:
When you start wishing for things that you don't have, actively stop think about it. Look around at what you do have, and be thankful for it. I'm not saying don't set goals, and envision them. I'm talking about winning the lottery, or buying a mansion, or something that maybe you don't need. Yes I have been guilty of thinking about winning the lottery. But I don't think about it very often. I love my life, and would not change anything in it.

So I will leave you on that note, and I hope y'all have a great night.

If this was too mushy for you, let me know. I will try to lighten it up a bit next time. :-) Good night yall!

Yoga camp day 4 ... I awaken ___!

Affirmation:
I awaken ______!
I awaken my positive attitude within! - Me

Introduction:
Hi friends! I hope you had a great day. Tomorrow is Friday!!! For those of you that work a 9-5 Monday - Friday job, TGIF! I unfortunately work what ever day I am able to work. There is a plus side though, there are some days where I say, I think I'm going to take the day to relax, or get some personal stuff done. I am my own boss, so the only person that can fire me, is me. At least for the next couple days. I'll get to that in a minute.

Today's affirmation was a little difficult for me to come up with anything. I feel like I have woken my body, mind and spirit, a lot more than it was since before I started my yoga. I do feel like I could be a little more positive, granted I have been a lot more positive than I have in the past, but everyone could be more positive right? So I choose to awaken my positive attitude within.

I really think that is what got me through the time period before Russell took his exam. I was getting really frustrated with his negative attitude, and was hold on for dear life, trying to stay positive for him. I knew he would do well on the exam, and I kept telling him that he was making himself stress out too much. He kept on being negative about everything, and it almost broke my positive attitude. I didn't give in though. I kept my positivity (is that a word?) and he did great. He even apologized afterward for being so negative. Everything works out the way it should in the end.

What is a time in your life, that you have had to stay positive through all the tough times? Were you able to stick to it? Or did you give in to the negative thoughts? Share your experiences with us!

Yoga:
Today's yoga was a version on sun salutations. I have posted a picture of this earlier in the blog, but here is the photo again...

In the video, we did this one, and two other renditions of the sun salutation. I think it was really good. It relaxed me, while bringing my heart rate up, and working me out.

Since I started my yoga, I have become more flexible. It is really nice. For the cool down, we sat with our legs straight out, then bent one knee and stretched over the straight leg. I could actually touch my forehead to my knee. I certainly could not do that at the beginning, much less grab my foot. I was actually really excited.

Have you gained flexibility since you started yoga? I'd love to hear about it.

Daily Activities:
Today I went and showed two properties. They still weren't what they wanted, but I am hopeful that I will find them something soon, but the options are dwindling down. They are running out of homes to look at, unless they look in another area, or stop being so picky.

I had an interview at the Gristmill today, and I got the job. I will be telling the River Hofbrau that I will not be attending orientation on Wednesday. I have orientation for the Gristmill on Tuesday. I'm kind of excited. They don't hire straight to the serving position though. They start people off as a host to learn ALL the table numbers, which I am great at learning, and train for 2 weeks. Then they put you in the serving position. At least for those two weeks I'll be getting 7.25 an hour. That will help out a lot. They were able to work with the schedule I want, dinner shift during the week, and lunch or dinner shift on the weekends. They get crazy busy during the summer, so starting now, will allow me to get used to everything before we get busy. I'll keep y'all updated on how that goes.

Food:
Breakfast - Honey Bunches of Oats cereal
Lunch - chips and salsa
Dinner - Boudin sausage that Russell brought from the ranch, with french fries, and baked beans.

Exercise:

Conclusion:
Find what you would like to awaken in yourself. "Awakening" something does not have to be physical. You can awaken your spirit by daily devotions, or awaken you emotions, by expressing them more to your significant other, or family... You can awaken all sorts of things. You just have to dig deep, and figure it out.

Until tomorrow my friends. I hope you have a great night!

Yoga Camp Day 3 ... I Embrace _____!

Affirmation
I embrace _____!
I embrace change and the challenges that accompany it! - Source

Intro:
Hi there! I hope your hump day is going okay. Mine could have been better, but it definitely could have been worse as well. I'll discuss that more when I get to the daily activities.

Today's affirmation was a pretty good one. I embrace. I couldn't think of anything, so I decided to look up some examples. I really like the one I found, because I will need to embrace change here pretty soon. There are so many things in our lives that we need to embrace. Even the things we don't want to embrace. That is the only way that we can truly accept our selves as we are, instead of wishing we were someone else.

One of the things that I have learned to embrace, is my dyslexia. It used to be a lot more sever than it is now, because I have learned to live with it, and learn around it. I know it makes me a slow reader, and makes me see words differently than they actually are. Sometimes I omit letters in a word, and add others changing the whole word completely. Some people may think, that is not part of the learning disorder, but it is. Some people may think it's a crutch, but its not. It's real life for me, and I have to accept and embrace it, whether or not other people will do the same.

If you think about it, someone training for cross country, who has asthma, might say "hold on coach, I need to take a break, my asthma is acting up." Will the coach say, "nonsense, that's just a crutch you use so that you can take a break." No he wouldn't. Granted, not being able to breath is a lot more serious, than not reading something correctly, but the point is the same. The cross country runner will never cure his asthma, but he will learn to live with it. I will never be cured from my dyslexia, but I can learn to live with it.

My point is, no matter what ailments, disorders, phobias, impairments, or whatever it might be that you have to live with, learn to embrace it. You never know when it actually might be helpful one day. Maybe you will help someone with the same difference you have, and help them through a tough time. Embracing your differences will help you stay happy. We are all different, lets lift people up, instead of break them down.

Yoga:
Today's yoga was really good. My back isn't as stiff as it was yesterday. Maybe that is because we didn't do as many laying down moves. There were some back twists, thigh stretches, and core exercises. I feel really good. You should definitely complete this video. Here it is if you are doing it with me.

Daily Activities:
Today I had phone duty at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. I only got one call, for a rental. However, a rental is better than nothing at all. It's at least some income. I also had to tell my clients, that they were not going to be getting the house that they are supposed to close on this Friday, or get their earnest money back.

If you aren't familiar with the home buying process, earnest money is 1% of the purchase price of the home you want to buy, and you pay it when you offer is accepted. It is good faith money, that tells the seller that they are serious about the purchase of the home. If for some reason they don't want the house any more, or can't get the house, they can get their earnest money back, if they are with in the legal limits of the contract. Unfortunately we were in default of the contract, therefore  they have to forfeit their earnest money, and it will go to the sellers. My clients weren't too happy, but  they understood, and would still like to work with me when they are ready to look for another home. So that is good news.

Russell and I have decided that I need to get a part time job, aside from my Real Estate. This is the change that I will need to embrace soon. The only job that is flexible enough for me, is being a server. I'm not too worried about it though. Serving is good, easy money, and I have about 6-7 years of experience. I will be a trainer and regular closer in no time. At least that is what happened at Logan's. I worked there for about 2 months, and in 2 weeks I was training, and closing most shifts.

I went into a restaurant here in New Braunfels today call River Hofbrau. It's a steak house, and I pretty much got a job there. I start orientation next week on Wednesday, and they seem to want to give me the hours and schedule that I want. They aren't super busy right now, but all I really need is about $275 a week. I could realistically get that in about 3 shifts.

I also received a call from the Grist Mill in Gruene. The last time I interview with them, I wanted the same schedule, and they said they needed servers with more flexible schedules. I guess we will see what they say this time. At least I know I have a job, if they don't want to hire me in Gruene.

When I got home, I got all my receipts and things together, so that we can talk to a CPA soon. It only took about an hour to get everything organized, and totaled. At least I am ready for when we talk to someone.

To be completely honest, I almost didn't do my yoga today, but Russell, being the supper sweet husband he is, kept me accountable. He said that I need to do yoga, even though I want to take a break. I love him for doing that. I know I would have regretted it tomorrow if I didn't do it.

Exercise:

Food:
Breakfast - Toast and coffee
Lunch - Ham sandwich
Dinner - nothing
Snack - bread pudding

Motivation:

Conclusion:
So in the end, just embrace and love yourself. Even if you have to physically give yourself a big hug, and say "I embrace you and accept you for who you are!"

As always my friends, stay happy, healthy, and motivated.
Have a good night.

Yoga Camp Day 2

Affirmation:
I create _______!  - What do you create for yourself?
I create happiness for myself!

Intro:
Hey guys and gals! How has your week started off? I hope it is going well!  We are officially in day 2 of our second yoga series, and I am feeling pretty stiff. I am not sure why. I don't think my back likes to lay on the floor very much. I always have stiffness in my upper back. Maybe it's because I slouch a lot, and the yoga is slowly straightening it out, which makes it sore. Who knows. All I know is I want it to stop.

So I wanted to tell y'all, even if you aren't participating in this yoga series with me, I hope I can still motivate you to keep going in whatever exercise, or wellness activity you are currently doing. I hope that my experiences with these health challenges, helps you stay on track. Or if you find that you missed a day or two, that my entries will help you get back at it.

I know first hand how hard it is to get back on track when you have missed a day or two. You get home from work, school or maybe you're a stay at home mom, who just wants to relax on the couch when you have time to yourself. Whatever you do during the day, I hope I can help motivate you to at least do something little. I have found that doing this yoga each day, has helped me stay motivated through out the day to either do some computer work, clean, or cook. I don't know how that happens, but somehow it's connected. So keep at it! I know you can do it. There is more to life, then pushing papers, and paying bills.

Yoga:
Today's video had a lot of stretching in it. Stretching the back, legs, and doing some ab exercises. Here is the video if you are doing it with me. It is almost an hour long, so set a side some time to be able to finish this video in one sitting. The only way that you can feel the full healing effect of yoga, is if you complete it fully, and with out interruptions. If you stop in the middle of doing yoga, then you brake the meditation aspect of it. Also, if you stop in the middle, you may not come back. Might as well just finish it in one swoop. Then when you are done, you wont have to think about it again for the rest of the day.

Another note about setting aside time during the day, every day, eventually the kids / husband / wife, will say "oh it's 7:00pm, mommy/wifey / hubby is doing yoga!" They will know that you are doing yoga and hopefully they will leave you to it. Get them involved. I don't mean, have them do it with you. I mean, you total can if you want to get them in there. But what I really mean is, maybe make a game out of it. "Say whoever reminds me to do my yoga at 6:50pm first today, I will give them a dollar." Or whatever treat you want to give. That might help them realized, you need time to yourself.

Daily Activities:
I did a little house keeping today, by doing the laundry (all of it!!!), and sweeping the kitchen and master bathroom floors, and made more bread. We went through the first loaf pretty fast. I was slicing it too thick. Now I know to slice the bread thinner than I was. Maybe this one will last longer.

Russell took his exam and PASSED!!! All he has to do now is get his finger prints done, and get his liability insurance situated, and they will be able to send him his license. I am so proud of him.

So, it looks like my contract that I had pending is not going to close. The lender was not able to get them approved for their loan. They will need to work another 60 days to get their credit up, and the sellers are not going to let that happen. They said that if we don't close on the 29th, then they will be putting the house back on the market.

Maybe they will be able to buy a house in 2 months, and it will be an even better house that this one. I guess we will see.

Russell and I have come to the realization, that I will be getting a part-time job while I am trying to get my Real Estate back up and running. I have applied at Olive Garden, and the Gristmill. I will probably try applying to a couple other places as well. Wish me luck.

Food:
Breakfast - Cinnamon toast
Lunch - Corndogs
Dinner - Sonic (grilled chicken sandwich)

Russell and I are on a very strict budget, so we can't spend a lot of money at the store.

Motivation:
I don't want her body, but I wouldn't mind my body being fit like hers.

Conclusion:
Well guys, I hope you today's post has given you the motivation to keep going. I hope y'all have a great evening.

Until tomorrow my friends.
